Organizing & Creating on Memorial Day

I've spent a good portion of my day in my studio organizing, sorting and creating.  I took apart a couple of things and never really came up with a remake.  All in all I finally made a few pieces that I will share with family and friends.

The first is an ankle bracelet that includes simple stringing of seed beads and Millefiori glass beads to make this RED hot number.

For the second ankle bracelet is strung sodalite and white cat eye beads to create a smooth but colorful piece.  Sodalite is a great gemstone as it harmonizes the inner being.  Who doesn't need a little harmony every now and then.

I've had these great dalmatian jasper round beads for some time so I paired them with some onyx beads and added the jazzy leaf dangles.  I received the leaves from my partner as part of the BEAD SOUP exchange.

All that organizing exposed LOTS of wire!  I haven't practiced wire wrapping in a very long time so today was the day to get started.  I used 18 gauge antique brass wire to wrap the orange and white polka dot lampwork beads and included some bead caps to make it interesting.  I received the lampwork beads as part of my BEAD SOUP too.

8th Annual Bead Soup Blog Party

8th Annual Bead Soup Blog Party

The Bead Soup Blog Party is an annual event that brings the beading community together on an international scale.  The hostess/coordinator of the PARTY is Lori Anderson owner of the Pretty Things blog.  Laurie posts a call for jewelry designers, bead makers and artists to join the party and reveal their designs on a certain day.  THAT day is today, the time is now to share what I've made with the beads that I received from my partner, Laurie Cecerely.

These vibrant green (chartreuse) glass beads and the toggle clasp were included in the beautifully wrapped package that I received from Laurie.
So I used the solid green beads and included some beads from my stash to create this
~three strand bracelet~
stacked bracelets were the inspiration for this design.

I also wanted to make something that I will actually use.  I make a lot of jewelry but not always for myself.  I buy a lot of beads but most of them are safely tucked away for that
"one" project.

Well this Bead Soup Party is special to me.
I made something that would inspire me and remind me about the care and kindness that the Bead Soup Party brings to so many people around the world.

A ceiling fan pull!!!
Of course we know that I could just use the light switch
**but**
this pretty bead will dangle in plain sight for all to see.

The BRIGHT oRaNgE and gReEn lampwork beads add a punch of fresh color.

Notice the pretty background.
This is one of the pretty handkerchiefs that Laurie used to wrap my precious bead soup mix.

Have some fun and visit the blogs of the Bead Soup participants.  You will find a plethora of unique jewelry designs.

Also, please visit Fairies Market again soon.  I have ideas cooking for different designs containing some of the beautiful beads I received as part of the BSP.  Thank you to my wonderful partner Laurie C.

Happy Mother's Day!!
